This week in 5B we have been learning about the history of Liverpool and The Albert Dock.  We have also taken part in our school Sports Day which was held at Bebington Oval - it was fantastic!

Please see our pictures from sports day, our magnificent ferry cruise across the Mersey and our tour of The Albert Dock!

Evie , Nicholas , Billy and Brian say:

We really enjoyed our day at Bebington Oval for our school sports day. We had four teams and they were : Red team, Blue team, Green team and Yellow team. We had seven events including: Relay , Javelin, Shot Put, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Hurdles and Sprinting. Evie: My favourite event was Hurdles. Nicholas: My  favourite event was Relay. Billy and Brian: Our  favourite event was Sprinting. The Red team came fourth. The Yellow team came third. The Green team came second and the Blue team came first. Billy and Evie were on the Blue team. Brian was on the Red team and Nicholas was on the Green team.

Today we went on the ferry cruise as part of our Liverpool topic. It was a very good experience. We had a great time. We also looked around The Albert Dock. While we were on the ferry Mrs Best bought us a bottle of water and we got free biscuits from the man behind the desk who was called Brian. We got a picture outside The Pumphouse as it was built when The Albert Dock was built in 1847.

Our Stars Of The Week this week are Lewis Sawtell and Ross Bracken.

Hope you enjoyed this.

Our week in 5B - 8/5/15

This week in 5B we have been learning about morphology and etymology in our Literacy lessons.

In our Maths lessons we have been learning how to interpret and analyse pie charts.  We have also been planning and carrying out our own experiment and presenting our results in line graph.

On Wednesday, we went to the climbing hanger for the first time.  It was lots of fun!

Evie says:

My favourite part of the week was going to  the climbing hanger and going on the walls and climbing from the bottom to the top and across! We went in a play area and Mrs Best - our teacher - went on the slide! I had lots of fun !

Thrase says :

My favourite part of the week was in literacy when we got to draw on each others back with our fingers . Then we had a spelling test with the spellings we had been given to practise on each other's backs. I had lots of fun in this literacy lesson; I got tickled by Evie  - my best friend !

Our week in 5B

This week in 5B we have been learning about the Vikings.  We have designed and created our very own Viking ships and shields.  If you would like to see some of our work, please look at our pictures.

In Maths we have been learning how to create and analyse a variety of line graphs, use and apply the rules of BODMAS, how to divide by chunking and how to multiply a three digit number by a two digit number.

In Literacy we have been learning how to use colons and semi-colons, how to correct punctuation mistakes, how to peer assess work and how to use a variety of sentence types in our writing.

Brian says:

My favourite lesson this week was our Maths lesson on Thursday because we were asked to create a line graph which analysed the energy levels of the Liverpool and Everton team following their latest match against each other.

This week I have also enjoyed playing football at break and lunch time with 5L, we won every game!

Billy says:

My favourite lesson this week was our Topic lesson on Wednesday.  This was my favourite lesson because we learnt about the Viking ships, the materials they were made from, and the Viking alphabet.

This week I have also enjoyed playing football with my friends. I scored one of the best goals I have ever scored; I scored from the half-way line!
